Here's How NOTIQ's 1% With Stripe Climate Helps Save The Earth

As climate change keeps getting bigger, the world just keeps getting hotter. The cause? A rise in CO2. As CO2 builds up in Earth's atmosphere, these gases create the Greenhouse Effect- a process where the sun's heat is trapped and increases the temperature on the surface.

This change in climate affects the world in a number of devastating ways, like prolonged drought, rising sea levels, poor air quality, and destruction of crops. The future depends on solutions that will help slow down and put a stop to this global crisis.

Since 2022, NOTIQ has made it a priority to contribute a portion of its revenue to funding projects that improve the environment and the livelihood of people. The brand has joined a number of initiatives, like Stripe Climate, in the fight against global climate change.

According to Stripe Climate's website: “No company can stop climate change by itself. Stripe Climate aggregates funds from forward-thinking businesses around the world to increase demand for carbon removal. Stripe Climate works with Frontier, Stripe's in-house team of science and commercial experts, to purchase permanent carbon removal” (Stripe Climate).

When someone makes a purchase from NOTIQ, they're supporting the planet. A portion of every NOTIQ box subscription is invested in the technologies needed to support greater carbon removal. As of June 2023, the brand has offset over 216 tons of CO2 through its environmental commitment, and that number will only continue to grow. 

Among Stripe Climate's portfolio of supported projects is a company called Climeworks. “Climeworks uses renewable geothermal energy and waste heat to capture CO₂ directly from the air, concentrate it, and permanently sequester it underground” (Stripe Climate). It is projected that Climeworks will remove up to 322 tons of CO2 on behalf of Stripe Climate businesses like NOTIQ.

The world's previous technologies aren't enough to make an impact on the current incline of carbon emissions. When people support the businesses that work with Stripe Climate, they're investing in the future of the planet.
